Description:
Figures 1 and 2 show the anterior and posterior aspects of the rib cage. Figure 3 shows three of the middle thoracic vertebrae together with a middle rib. Figure 4 shows the posterior portion of a rib. Figure 5 depicts part of the twelth rib from the back. Figure 6 illustrates the anterior face of the sternum (breast bone) and figure 7 shows the posterior face. These figures ultimately derive from 86 and 87 of Vesalius 1543.
