Hemispheres retracted laterally to show corpus callosumt. Horizontal section through brain at level of lateral ventricles. A cut hemisphere showing lateral ventricle. Horizontal section with cerebrum removed showing optic chiasma and upper surface of cerebellum. View of cranial cavity with only (damaged) brainstem and some cranial nerves remaining. This is a composite plate that derives from pages 607, 608, 618 and 619 of Vesalius 1543. It is a later state of the plate in Geminus 1552, ai0080.
