Description:

View of the muscular system of a man from behind in a "self-demonstrating" pose. The third plate in the series of muscles demonstrated from the back.This is a composite plate that derives from pages 200 and 201 of Vesalius 1543 (landscape with town omitted). There is a clear relationship between this plate and the equivalent in Valverde (plate XI, book II) 1559; note in particular the integration of Vesalius' pages 200 and 201. It is a later state of the plate in Geminus 1552, ai0056.
