Description:
Title page with the printer and publisher Andre Wechel's elaborate device in the centre. Note: 'clariis.' in title is a misprint for 'clariss.' (clarissime: 'most clearly'); the misprint was corrected in a re-issue the following year (1565). The plates of the work are those of Thomas Geminus re-issued unaltered by Wechel. Jacques Grevin provided a commentary on Vesalius's text, section by section. An edition containing the same plates but with French text, again by Grevin, was published by Andre Wechel in 1569.
