Description:
The title page carries the title, autor and editor of the work. It is a copy of the Valverde 1559 title page (image ai0001) with alterations: the inscription panel includes a view of Venice and a fleur de lys with the letters LA (printer's device?). The base of the architectural structure on the title page are representations (left to right) of an anatomist investigating the structure of a skeleton, a dissection of a male cadaver, and a dissection of a female cadaver.
