Description:
|
Two female figures displaying the genito-urinary tract and an illustration of the vagina. This plate is a composite that ultimately derives from pages 477, 478, 480, 481 (plus another unidentified source) of Vesalius 1543. Changes have been made to some components of this composite plate. In particular, the female torso, derived from Vesalius page 478, has a head added. The components of which this plate are made up are similar to, but not identical with those in Geminus, plate inserted after H.v. The torso of the woman derived from page 478 of Vesalius, used in the Geminus, does not have an added head. (See Valverde 1559:ai0029, the plate is the same but selectively refreshed).
