Description:
There are three figures showing the muscles, veins and organs of the abdomen; a fourth diagram shows the lower abdomen outwith the body. This plate is a composite. Although the figures appear to be new inventions, in fact, they are variations on figures in Vesalius. Thus, figure I in Valverde is derived from page 455, figure II is derived from page 456, figure III is derived from page 457, and figure IV from page 458 of Vesalius 1543.
