Description:
Figure 9 is the third in the series of the dissection of the heart. The tenth figure is the fourth in the series of dissection of the heart, the eleventh figure shows the whole heart sectioned transversely - this is perhaps the earliest example of the use of cross sections, apart from Leonardo, to show the relative thickness of the ventricular walls of the heart and the shape of its cavities. These figures ultimately derive from pages 566 and 567 of Vesalius 1543.
