Description:
This is part of the same book of plans as images 00002375-2376, and 00002378-2379. They were drawn by Mar himself, who had extensive plans for remodelling his house and estate. He spent the last years of his exile in France, after the failure of the 1715 Stuart Rising, drawing up these plans. It shows two different designs for the interior of the house behind one of the balconies facing the river, and a design for the interior behind another balcony, both with marble columns. One of the designs for the river-facing balcony has decorative ironwork railings and one does not. Both designs for the river-facing balcony show sailing ships on the river, and the third design shows an urn, presumably on the balcony itself. There is a handwritten note on the sheet, which reads 'Mr. Bourchet Sculptur at Antwerpe computed one of these colomns of the marble of Dinan wtout Base or capitale, deliverd at Antwerpe to cost thertien gurnias and a half'. Another note, perhaps added later, reads 'Vaults to be Sunk in the Rock for Cellers'.
