Description:
Although this map has no date on it, there is a very faded and small pencil note beside title cartouche, which appears to say '[?] [?] [?] were after 1745 in which years James[?] [?] [?] [?] [?] before 1760 when Colonel[?] A[?] succeeded .. [?] [?]'. The handwriting suggests that the note has been added at a later date, and the gist of it would appear to be that the map has to be dated between 1745 and 1760, because James Gordon acquired the lands after 1745, and Colonel A[?] succeeded to them before 1760.
