This is a copy of the map at shelfmark MS.1647.Z.03/01a, showing Louis Petit's scheme (never taken up) to build a fort at Perth, as a consequence of the town having been taken by the armies of James Francis Edward Stuart, early in the 1715 rising, and held by them until the end. The map also shows the site of the seventeenth century Crowmellian fort (Perth then being called St. Johnston's).
