Description:
This sheet shows the town of Inverness, with the River Ness, and includes the settlements on the west bank of the river. It also shows the seventeenth century Cromwellian fort, known as Oliver's Fort. All three plans originated with Louis Petit, but are undated. However, they have been estimated as being about 1712. There are two copies of this plan at shelfmarks MS.1647.Z.02/78b and MS.1647.Z.02/78c.
