According to the 'Board of Ordnance Register of Plans 1700-1800, this plan of Blackness Castle was from Theodore Dury, and the extensive manuscript text on it is in his hand. Unfortunately, the Register does not give a date for it, but was estimated at 1690 by the 1934 War Office records.
