This is a copy of the plan at shelfmark MS.1647.Z.02/71a, showing Dumbarton Castle, with part of the Firth of Clyde and the River Leven. The original plan is unsigned. This copy was done in 1812, by John Field, who has upgraded several of the features which were only drafted in pencil on the original, such as the compass rose in the bottom left hand part of the sheet, the scale bar in the bottom right hand corner, and the flag and flagpole on the north east hill.
