Description:
This sheet is one of two copies of an apparently missing original, the copies probably being done in the Tower of London Drawing Room, this one by William Rogerson, in 1808. The other copy, at shelfmark MS.16467.Z.02/59c, is a joint effort by David Robinson, who was on the Drawing Room register from 1796 to 1801, and 'C. Basset'. The plan apparently shows the completed Fort George, Ardersier, with full details of both the military defence features and the domestic buildings. It also shows details of high and low water marks. The chief engineer for the building of Fort George at Ardersier Point was William Skinner.
