[Shore at Fort George showing tides]; Plan of the Pier
Creator:
Frazer, Andrew (active 1781-1786)
Creator Role:
Surveyor
Date:
1785
Description:
This is an undated and unsigned sketch of the pier at Fort George, Ardersier, with the fort and surrounding area. It can certainly be dated to after 1756 by the presence of Prince William Henry's Bastion, and from the style, and its relation to other plans, is probably one of Andrew Frazer's plans from 1785. There is a copy of the left hand portion of this in image 00003230, and the right hand portion in image 00003231. Frazer's plans for the pier were, in his absence, altered in the construction stage by a Major Marr, which was to cause some problems for Charles Shipley two years later, as is mentioned on his plan in image 00003226.
