Description:
This and the plans at shelfmarks MS.1647.Z.02/57a and MS.1647.Z.02/57c are all probably copies of a missing original, which appears to have been William Skinner's design for Fort George, Ardersier, before anything was actually built. The 'Board of Ordnance Register of Plans 1700-1800' only lists 6 copies and no original, dates them to 1749 and gives the draughtsman as 'Mr. Heath'. Joseph Heath was a draughtsman in the Tower of London Drawing Room from 1750 to 1759.
