Description:
The sheet is the contemporary copy of the plan at shelfmark MS.1646.Z.02/40a, (drawn by Charles Tarrant and is signed by William Skinner). This was done by Thomas Day in the Tower of London Drawing Room. Both sheets show the progress in the building of the new Fort George at Ardersier Point, by 1750, with future developments marked. They follow the plan of 1749 at shelfmark MS.1646.Z.02/39a (copy at shelfmark MS.1646.Z.02/39b). Three sheets of sections accompany this plan. They are at shelfmarks MS.1646.Z.02/41a, MS.1646.Z.02/42a and MS.1646.Z.02/43a, (with unsigned copies at shelfmarks MS.1646.Z.02/41b, MS.1646.Z.02/42b and MS.1646.Z.02/43b).
