A Plan of Fort George on Arderseer [i.e. Ardersier] Point North Britain 1749
Date:
1749
Description:
The sheet shows a plan of the progress in the building of the new Fort George at Ardersier Point, by 1749, with future developments marked. A small section in a box at the bottom left hand side, shows profiles of the scarp, fosse and counterscarp. It has been attributed to William Skinner, although neither he nor Charles Tarrant, his usual surveying partner and draughtsman, have signed it, and it is not certain when this plan was drawn or by whom.
