Description:
|
This copy of a missing 1733 plan of the fort at Fort William, by John Romer, was done by George Massey and Richard Coombs. Massey worked in the Tower of London Drawing Room between 1752 and 1756, and Coombs between 1755 and 1760, so this copy must have been done between 1755 and 1756. It shows those parts of the fort associated with the riverside, and has a sailing ship and two manned wherries depicted on the river.
