Map of the fort at Fort William, with the town, then known as Maryburgh, with detailed pictorial depiction of the surrounding country, and with the owners of the lands noted. Although a pencil notation on the map itself says 'c. 1710', and this date is also given by D.G. Moir in 'Early Maps of Scotland to 1850', it has been dated 'about 1720' by Tabraham and Grove in 'Fortress Scotland and the Jacobites' (see references).
