This is a copy of MS.1646.Z.02/16a, probably of the same date and by Theodore Dury, with the additions of schemes to fortify the nether baillie and and entrance. It also relates to MS.1646.Z.02/23a (copies at MS.1646.Z.02/23b and MS.1646.Z.02/23c), which is another copy of this scheme, with additional profiles, and a criticism of Dury's scheme, and additions to it by Talbot Edwards, Second Engineer. Dury and Edwards also came into conflict over plans for Edinburgh Castle.
