Description:
One of a set of four unsigned plans of Stirling Castle, the others being 2705, 2707 and 2708. Despite the date of 1741 written on them, they are unchanged copies Andrew Jelfe's and Thomas Moore's set of four plans of Stirling Castle from 1719 (2679, 2680, 2681 and 2682), although they cannot have been drawn by Moore, as he died in 1734. Many of the earlier Board of Ordnance plans were copied in 1741, probably in the Tower of London Drawing Room. This sheet shows the Great Hall, with the Chaplain's appartments, infirmary, the Governor's brewhouse, kitchen and stable, the armourer, shot-house, vaults for coal, wood and beer, the oven and 'Bogg House', with elevations.
