Description:
One of a set of four unsigned plans of Stirling Castle, the others being on images 00002706, 00002707 and 00002708. Despite the date of 1741 written on them, they are unchanged copies Andrew Jelfe's and Thomas Moore's set of four plans of Stirling Castle from 1719 (on images 00002679, 00002680, 00002681 and 00002682), although they cannot have been drawn by Moore, as he died in 1734. Many of the earlier Board of Ordnance plans were copied in 1741, probably in the Tower of London Drawing Room This sheet shows the Governor's and Major's appartments, the Governors' kitchen, housekeeper's room, the infirmary, yard, dovecote, storerooms and woodstore, with the ovens and bakehouse for the garrison, with elevations of certain sections.
