Description:
A map of the part of Easter Ross between the Dornoch Firth and the Cromarty Firth, from Tarbat Ness, west to Edderton, Loch Achnacloich and Invergordon and with the adjacent shores of the Firths There is much settlement detail, with prominent likenesses of some houses, castles and ecclesiastical buildings. The map was catalogued by C.G. Cash as part of the manuscript maps compiled by Robert Gordon. In fact, it was compiled by Timothy Pont in the last two decades of the sixteenth century. The compass rose is a later addition, probably by Robert Gordon, who copied the contents of the map.
