Description:
Although it has no title this map is usually known as 'Royaume d'Ecosse' from the title of the table of places on the right hand side of the map. It was included in 'Atlas ou Recueil de Cartes Geographiques' by Nicholas de Fer which was published in Paris between 1709 and 1728. The map itself was probably also available separately a few years earlier (1706?), as that was when De Fer published his other maps of the British Isles and Ireland. The compression on the north-south axis is unusual for maps of this time, and the exaggeration round Aberdeen including the Bay and the mouth of the River Don is notable.
