Description:
This manuscript map of part of Killean and Kilchenzie parish, Argyll, titled 'A map of the grounds in dispute betwixt his grace the Duke of Argyll and Greenwich and John McDonald of Larggie' was surveyed and drawn by David Dowie. The map is undated but was possibly drawn in about 1735 when Dowie was actively surveying other areas in Scotland such as the Forest of Mamlorn(e) in Perthshire. It shows the disputed land as a coloured zone, the boundary being identified by a number of cairns and obvious rocks such as a 'white stone'. The names of neighbouring landowners are noted.
