Description:
This plan of the lands of Harten Hill in Lanark was surveyed in 1740 by John Wilson for a dispute concerning the land. It shows a series of enclosed parks with hill ground behind. Landmarks on the boundaries such as stones and burns are noted. The peat road and the Edinburgh road are marked. Several houses are indicated. Fields are numbered and colour coded. A key distinguishes the infield, common hill grazing, and black common or moss, and the ownership of different areas. Related Processes (not scanned) give details of the land, the livestock on it and the field names.
