Description:
A manuscript map in ink and pencil showing both shore lines of the Firth of Tay inland as far as Perth, as well as part of the Fife coast. The map is incomplete and includes a small scatter of detail between St Andrews and the Lomond Hills, as well as around Kirkcaldy. The map was compiled by Robert Gordon of Straloch (1580-1661), at an unknown date after 1633. The main source of the compilation is likely to be the observations of Timothy Pont, in the last two decades of the sixteenth century. The north part of the map closely resembles Gordon's map no. 46, which is at a larger scale.
