Description:
|
A map showing both shore lines of the Firth of Tay, as well as the coastline of St Andrew's Bay as far as Fife Ness. There are small sketch plans of Dundee, Cupar and St Andrews, but only nine other place-names are located in an otherwise blank map. The map was compiled by Robert Gordon of Straloch (1580-1661), at an unknown date after 1633. The main source of the compilation is likely to be the observations of Timothy Pont, in the last two decades of the sixteenth century.
