Description:
|
A manuscript map of a part of Angus, covering the catchment of the Dean Water, west of Fofar, the east bank of the Isla above Meigle, Glen Prosen and Glen Clova. There is much detail of the settlement in Glen Clova, Glen Damff and that part of Strathmore between Meigle and Forfar. The map was compiled by Robert Gordon of Straloch (1580-1661), at an unknown date after 1633. Gordon's sources were two maps by Timothy Pont, compiled in the last two decades of the sixteenth century and now in the National Library of Scotland.
