Description:
A map of Central Scotland bounded by the River Spey above Glen Feshie in the north, Loch Trieg and the River Spean in the west, Glen Dochart, Loch Tay and Logierait in the south, and Blair, Glen Tilt and the Dee above Braemar (Casteltoun) in the east. There is settlement detail on the north shore of Loch Tay, beneath Ben Lawers, and along the valley of the Tummel, but elsewhere there is only an irregular distribution of hills and streams. The map was compiled by Robert Gordon of Straloch (1580-1661), at an unknown date after 1633. The main source of the compilation is likely to be the observations of Timothy Pont, in the last two decades of the sixteenth century.
